Planet Hollywood Enters the Georgian Market with a Premium Gaming Resort

Planet Hollywood Enters the Georgian Market with a Premium Gaming Resort

30 Mar, 2026

Planet Hollywood Hotels & Resorts plans to open its first property in Georgia — Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino Tbilisi, marking the brand’s entry into the Caucasus market. The project will become the country’s first fully integrated resort, combining high-level hospitality with the brand’s signature entertainment concept.

The initiative is being developed in partnership with Orbi Group and Block Group, with the involvement of Iconic Entertainment. The project is expected to create around 2,000 permanent jobs and provide an additional boost to the city’s tourism sector.

Planet Hollywood founder Robert Earl expressed confidence in the project’s success: “This represents a defining step in the continued global evolution of the Planet Hollywood brand. Tbilisi is a city with extraordinary character and momentum. Together with our partners, we are creating a destination that brings together entertainment, hospitality, and immersive experiences in a way that is both ambitious and authentic to the market.”

Tornike Janashvili, CEO of Block Group, added: “This is a pivotal moment for Tbilisi. We are introducing a true integrated resort-one that elevates the city’s global positioning, attracts international visitation at scale, and sets a new standard for hospitality, entertainment, and economic impact in the region.”

Planned Features

The new resort will offer a wide range of amenities catering to both international tourists and local visitors:

  • Accommodations: A luxury hotel offering themed rooms and suites that incorporate cinematic memorabilia and Hollywood-inspired design.
  • Gaming: A world-class casino designed to compete with regional gaming hubs.
  • Entertainment & Dining: Multiple signature restaurants, a rooftop lounge with panoramic city views, and dedicated spaces for live events and nightlife.
  • Wellness: A full-service spa, fitness center, and pool facilities.

Riding the Wave of Tourism Growth in Georgia

The arrival of Planet Hollywood comes at a key moment for the country’s hospitality sector. According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia, 2025 was a record-breaking year, with more than 7.8 million international visitors — nearly 6% higher than the previous year.

While Russia and Turkey remain the largest sources of tourists, Georgia has seen a significant increase from new markets. In certain months of 2025, arrivals from India grew by up to 40%, while visitor numbers from China, EU countries (notably Spain and Italy), and the UK also reached historic highs.

Infrastructure and Economic Growth

The resort aligns with a broader national strategy to shift from mass-budget tourism to the premium segment. This trend is reflected in other major 2025–2026 openings, including Telegraph Hotel and Paragraph Golf & Spa Tabori. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Georgia is projected to maintain the highest economic growth in the region through 2030, averaging 5.4% annually.

This stability strengthens Tbilisi’s position as an attractive hub for international premium brands, including Planet Hollywood.

By implementing an integrated resort model — combining a casino, hotel, and entertainment spaces in a single complex — Planet Hollywood aims to capitalize on Tbilisi’s evolution into a year-round destination for high-spending leisure travellers.
